Why are teenagers criticised in newspapers

Both the court and his doctors were trying to protect him — even though it was that which stopped him from making an informed choice. In a criminal trial involving a person under 18, there are various special sentencing options intended to rehabilitate the offender. But these sentencing principles are not always applied consistently. Yet one young person can often have multiple ideas projected on them at once — as exemplified by the case of the killers of Bulger. Ultimately, every one of these ideas about what young people is a simplification — a shortcut which enables adult society to form judgements without engaging with the complexities of life as a young person.

It seems that people manage to find a way to complain about the youth today from every possible angle. Or are these complaints something which every young generation has had to simply deal with since Ancient Egypt?

I believe that there is probably some truth to the idea that young people are more impatient than they once were. We live in an extremely connected world with huge amounts of information right at our fingertips.

Technology has enabled us to do things more quickly, so naturally, we expect things to be done more quickly. Nevertheless, people may still argue that young people are more arrogant and reckless than they once were. Whether this is because young people are unfairly portrayed in the media, or because they actually are getting worse, is up for discussion. I would say that Young people is always straight forward It's not a matter of "today" or "old days" The young people are taught to say truth from their childhood Nd when they step into teen age They try to do something for truth and try to change the old stupid thoughts At the same tym they try to speak and the old people call thek impudent or rude That's why old aged people call young people "rude than ever" but the truth is..

At their young age they were the same I don't think that young people of this generation is worse than ever. People always complain about their next generation. They always say that they impatient and rude. They don't show respect. I think the reason behind this is the development of technology through out change of time.

Technology has changed our life and made it fast and comfortable. Because anyone can get any information in a click,people have become impatient. This applies for everyone in this decade. But only young people are used as scapegoat. So elderly people should change their mentality about their next generation. This change will help to build the confidence of the youth and we can build a better future. According to me, today's young people are not worse at all. They are more intelligent and open minded from adults.

We are forgetting something important! It's a time of digital exploitation and youths are moving in these. So they are more innovative and they respect their superiors.

But sometimes it depends on the family background. So parents should be aware of making their children's manners. In my opinion, Today's young people are not the worst. I do not agree with this because my religious view does not support the thought that 'today's young people are the worst. Because once young people were engaged in too many bad practices which cannot not be pronounced or can be pronounced but that would cause your heart to feel very very sad.

As for example: Young people killed each other to win something. How much neglectful act they did! The thought written by me is according to my knowledge of my religion. After coming Holy Prophet in this world, Young people started to change towards right path because of Almighty's will.

Not only young people rather the whole world. So, Today's young people are not the worst than ever according to my very little knowledge. I don't think that young people are worse than ever.

The think tank, Demos, which commissioned the survey, said the findings "shatter misconceptions of disengaged teenagers". More than 1, year-olds from England and Northern Ireland took part. Demos said false stereotyping of young people in the media and wider society was having a negative effect on both their self-esteem and employment opportunities. Demos said its survey tested "attitudes and perceptions" of teenagers.

It did not investigate the views of employers. It said it had also analysed six UK newspapers over the past 10 years and found that the words most commonly associated with "teenagers", "youth" and "young people" were "binge-drinking", "yobs" and "crime".

The awards scheme, called Positive Images, will highlight the best stories in the national and local press, as well as the best publicity campaign by a youth group and the most youth-friendly local council. The campaign has the backing of the youth minister, Margaret Hodge. She said: "It's almost getting to the stage where it's okay to see every young person as a yob. That just doesn't give credit to the vibrancy of young people.

Media casts youth in a constant bad light. Campaign seeks to adjust emphasis on crime.
